Fear of recurrence
Ask patients if they are worried about the cancer recurring. Assess whether these worries are having a significant impact on their life and if so, offer referral to a psychologist.
Survivorship: Psychosocial support and resources. Patients often struggle with emotional and psychological concerns post-treatment. Patients may experience fear of recurrence, stress (family, financial, or work issues), depression, anxiety, loneliness, or anger over their experience with cancer. Post-treatment adjustment should be assessed and, if problems are identified, treatment and/or referral to an appropriately trained professional should be ensured
